David Laux – President/Chief Executive Officer
David is the owner and founder of Laux Construction LLC. He was born into the industry, as his father and uncle both worked in construction. As a teenager, he worked for K&D General Contractors in Williamston, MI, owned by his Uncle. In the late 1990s, David entered the Carpentry Apprenticeship, where he obtained his license in carpentry. David has well over 30 years in the Lansing Area Commercial Construction Industry. In 1996, he received his builders license.
David whole-heartedly believes in teamwork, being proactive, always having a positive attitude, having a sincere interest in developing lasting relationships and helping our clients achieve their objectives successfully. These traits, among others, have helped Laux a leading General Contractor in the Greater Mid-Michigan area.
In his free time, David likes to be with his family, including his wife and two daughters, and driving/working on his diverse collection of vintage vehicles.
Ronni Laux – Chief Financial Officer
Ronni has been with the company since it started in 1996. She has taken on several roles as the company has grown. Starting from knowing very little about construction, she is very knowledgeable in every aspect to date. Before her time at Laux Construction, Ronni worked at MSU Foundation, and quit her job to stay home with her two young daughters, one being a newborn.
Currently, Ronni is the Office Manager, and CFO of Laux Construction. She trains the office new hires on pay application processes, handles contract management, and money management.
“Why do I like working here or in construction? Well, I had two kids I had to put through college, so I had no choice! But, in all honesty, David came to me and told me he quit his job the same day or so that I quit mine. He decided to do this, and I needed to help. Little did we know it would take off like it did. There have been many struggles. But, it is a miracle that this has paid off for our family. We are beyond thankful.”
Kori Crippen –Executive Assistant/Human Resources
Kori has been with Laux Construction since 2014. She’s originally from Dansville, but has lived in Onondaga for the past year. At Laux Construction, she’s in charge of human resource duties including payroll, new employee information, accounts receivable, and working with the President, David, on a daily basis.
Kori studied at Ferris State University and earned a degree in Criminal Justice. In her free time, Kori enjoys spending time with her family, especially her toddler son, concerts, and visiting new places!
Kitty Gailey – Office Manager/Project Management Assistant
Kitty has been with Laux Construction since March of 2012. Some of her daily duties include making the office a happy place, answering questions regarding payment, and assisting project managers with projects, overseeing receptionist and accounts payable department.
Kitty was born, raised, and still resides in Stockbridge, Michigan. She obtained an Associates in Business degree from Jackson Business University. Kitty loves traveling, camping, and spending time with her friends and family.
Heather Kirchen – Project Management Assistant
Heather joined our team in 2017. She’s in charge of assisting designated project managers with applications for payment, LIEN waivers, subcontractor communication regarding contract documents for projects, and the related documents needed for projects. She also assists in the accounts payable at Laux Construction.
She graduated from Charlotte High School and took administrative courses through LCC and Career Quest, which prepared her for her duties at Laux Construction.
Heather is from Charlotte, MI and has 3 children, twin girls and a boy.
David Perhne – Field Operations Manager
David is our Field Operations Manager and has been with Laux Construction since 2015. He oversees the field staff scheduling, hiring, quality control and safety implementation. David graduated from Everett High School and Hill Vocational School for Construction Trades.
David is from Lansing and currently lives in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. He has four daughters and a 3-year old grandson. In his free time, David coaches a U14 soccer team for his daughter, and loves to hunt and fish.
Chris Martin – Director of Project Management and Estimating
Chris has been with Laux Construction for 20 years. He’s in charge of project management and estimating, and managing the bidding and estimating processes. Chris is also in charge of overseeing the project management process once we are awarded a project, sales and marketing, and implementing and overseeing special projects, such as the apprenticeship program.
Chris is from Rives Junction, Michigan. He obtained a degree in Building Trades from the William D. Ford Vocational School. Chris loves anything to do with Jeeps, off-roading and shooting sports.
Brandon Garred – Project Manager
Brandon has been with Laux Construction for 14 years and is in charge of managing a diverse range of construction projects. He works closely with architects and engineers, building owners, field staff, and a variety of different subcontractors. Brandon also handles a wide range of projects, ranging from small interior renovations to multi-million dollar new builds.
Brandon is from Dansville, Michigan. He started to work toward a degree in Radiology Therapy, but half-way through his efforts, he developed a passion for the construction industry and struck a great opportunity with a great company… Laux!
In his free time, Brandon loves to bow hunt. He’s competitive and enjoys playing sports, especially soccer, basketball, and sand volleyball.
Brian Stiebe – Project Manager
Brian has been a part of the Laux Construction team for 8 years. He manages design build projects in the private sector. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan Technological University in Civil Engineering in 1994.
Brian is from L’Anse, Michigan and is a proud graduate of the Class of 1989 (“Damn fine! Purple Hornet for life!!”). Brian enjoys hunting, fishing, eating and relaxing in front of the TV.
David Rockafellow – Project Manager/Estimator
David has been with Laux since October 2017. He’s in charge of managing labor, material, and personalities of a project from inception to final certificate of occupancy. He holds an Associates Degree in Architectural Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from Ferris State University.
David is originally from Hesperia, Michigan, but has since relocated to Holt. He loves hunting, fishing, shooting, and spending time with his family. He and his wife have a house full of basset hounds – 4 of them!
Erik Every- Project Manager
Mr. Every joined our team in the spring of 2019 as a Site Supervisor. He managed several projects ranging in size and dollar values. He spent majority of his time at a biopharmaceutical company in Lansing managing various projects.
In January 2021, Erik moved into the office as a full-time Project Manager. Erik manages a wide range of projects in the educational, governmental, commercial, and private sectors.
In his free time, Erik likes spending time with his children and attending their events.
Ryan Dorey – Project Engineer Apprentice
Ryan joined our team in 2018 . He’s in charge of creating submittal logs and helping process them, creating closeout logs, helping to estimate projects, progress photos of project sites, and attending meetings with project managers.
Ryan is originally from Cheboygan, Michigan. He graduated from Cheboygan Area High School and is currently pursuing an Associates Degree in Construction Management at Lansing Community College. In his free time, Ryan likes to hunt, fish, and play hockey.
Carter Vandlen – Project Engineer Apprentice
In 2019, we added Carter to our team! He attended Holt High School and signed as our newest Project Engineer Apprentice upon graduation from Holt High School. He’s currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management from Lansing Community College. In his free time, Carter loves to swim, play basketball, and spend time with his family.
Carol Peden – Receptionist
Carol became our Front Desk Receptionist in the spring if 2019. She handles all phone calls, filing, making sure our candy dish is ALWAYS full, paying bills, and assisting in other administrative duties as well!
Carol grew up in Toledo, Ohio, but moved to Mason, Michigan several years ago. She loves to read and spend time with her family and her granddaughters.
